The drive tracker built for car enthusiasts

Rovy turns your iPhone into a powerful drive tracking companion. Whether you're commuting to work, going on a road trip, or testing your car's acceleration, Rovy records everything automatically with GPS precision. Control drives from your Apple Watch or CarPlay, monitor your heart rate while driving, and let auto-start begin tracking the moment your phone connects to your car.

Unlike basic mileage trackers, Rovy is designed for people who genuinely enjoy driving. It combines practical drive logging with fun features like sprint timing and community leaderboards, so every drive becomes something worth tracking.

Core features

Real-time GPS speedometer

See your live speed displayed in a clean, glanceable interface. Rovy uses your iPhone's GPS for speed measurement, which is typically more accurate than your car's built-in speedometer. Supports both km/h and mph.

Automatic drive recording

Start a drive and Rovy handles the rest. Your entire route is recorded on a map, along with speed data at every point. The app works reliably in the background, so you can use navigation or music apps while tracking.

Detailed drive statistics

After every drive, get a full breakdown: total distance, duration, average speed, top speed, idle time, and a route map. Over time, Rovy builds your personal driving profile with aggregate statistics across all your drives.

Sprint mode

Measure your car's acceleration performance directly from your phone. Sprint mode times your 0-100 km/h (or 0-60 mph) runs using GPS data. No OBD dongle or extra hardware needed — just your iPhone and an open road.

Community leaderboards

See how your driving stats compare to the Rovy community. Leaderboards rank drivers by various metrics, and you can add friends to compete directly. It adds a social layer to everyday driving.

Drive logbook

Every drive is saved in your personal logbook. Browse, search, and filter your complete driving history. Useful for keeping records of business trips, road trips, or just seeing how much you've driven over time.

Apple Watch app

Start, pause, and stop drives directly from your wrist. The Rovy Apple Watch app also monitors your heart rate while driving, adding a unique health data layer to your drive statistics.

CarPlay support

Control your drive tracking from your car's built-in screen. Start, pause, and stop drives via CarPlay without reaching for your phone.

Auto-start drives

Rovy can automatically start tracking when your iPhone connects to your car's Bluetooth. No need to open the app — just get in and drive. Your drives are captured automatically every time.

Privacy & data

Rovy stores your drive data locally on your iPhone. Your routes and speeds stay on your device unless you choose to participate in leaderboards, which only share your display name and aggregate stats (not individual routes or locations).

Rovy does not sell your data, does not show ads based on your location, and does not track you when you're not actively recording a drive. Read the full privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions

Is Rovy really free?

Yes. Drive tracking, speedometer, route recording, and basic statistics are all free. Rovy Pro is an optional subscription for power users who want extended history, advanced stats, and sprint mode.

Which iPhones does Rovy support?

Rovy works on any iPhone running iOS 17 or later. It works best on iPhone 12 and newer, which have more accurate GPS hardware.

Does Rovy work without cellular data?

Yes. GPS tracking works without an internet connection. Your drives are stored locally. Leaderboards and profile sync require an internet connection.

How much battery does Rovy use?

Rovy is optimized for efficiency. Expect roughly 5-10% battery usage per hour of active tracking, comparable to navigation apps like Apple Maps or Google Maps.

Can I export my drive data?

You can share individual drive summaries and route maps directly from the app. Your complete drive history is accessible in the logbook.

Is Rovy available on Android?

Rovy is currently available for iPhone only. An Android version may be considered in the future based on community interest.

How accurate is the GPS speed?

GPS-based speed is typically accurate within 1-3 km/h under good conditions (clear sky, not in tunnels). It's often more accurate than car speedometers, which are legally required to never underreport speed and usually read 2-5% higher than actual.

Does Rovy work on Apple Watch?

Yes. The Apple Watch app lets you start, pause, and stop drives from your wrist. It also monitors your heart rate during drives, so you can see how your pulse changes while driving.

Does Rovy support CarPlay?

Yes. With CarPlay, you can start, pause, and stop drives directly from your car's built-in screen without touching your phone.

Can Rovy auto-start when I get in my car?

Yes. Rovy can automatically begin tracking when your iPhone connects to your car's Bluetooth. Just pair your phone once and every drive gets recorded without you needing to open the app.

Does Rovy work in all countries?

Yes. Rovy uses GPS, which works globally. Speed can be displayed in either km/h or mph. The app is available in the App Store worldwide.
